Yahweh & Yahshua – Names are Important

This is the fifth and final writing on the sacred names of our Father, Yahweh, and His beloved Son Yahshua.

In the previous article, it was learned that the name Jesus evolved throughout the centuries from Christ’s original name Yahshua.

We read from the Biblical record how important names are.  John the Baptist was specially named, Simon was renamed Peter, Jacob was renamed Israel.  In Israel, the naming of a Hebrew child was of supreme importance.

When a couple would come on the eighth day to dedicate and circumcise the first born male child, there would have been no way on Yahweh’s green earth that a Greek name would be allowed by the priest’s at a child’s dedication in the Temple.  If anyone dared such a thing, the temple police would usher the couple with their child to the nearest exit and curses would be put upon them.

The name Yahshua is that name above all names, because it contains the sacred name of Yahweh in it.  Yah is the short form of Yahweh; and Yahshua means “Yahweh Saves.”  Acts 4:12 says,  “…there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  You will find at our web site a book written by Gail (Zoë) Melvin called Yahweh, Yahshua and You; I would recommend this as further reading on this subject.

There are many books dedicated to the subject of how the sacred name of Yahweh and Yahshua fell into decay over the centuries.   My purpose here is not to stir up anger against the past, nor lead a campaign against this obvious wrong, but to “…build the old waste places … [and] raise up the foundations of many generations; and … be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:12.  My desire is not to activate another Christian cause, but to release righteousness in the earth.  Remember, whatever you make the issue, you make the idol.
